Author Guidelines

Authors are welcomed to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Articles

We accept submissions from author teams comprising adolescents aged 12–22. There are no excessively high requirements for the volume of experimental data in the manuscripts, which can be hypothesis-based articles supported by experimental data. We aim to publish fresh ideas and concepts, encouraging adolescents to verify their ideas through experiments in their spare time and provide references for cutting-edge science. When submitting, authors are required to provide materials to prove their involvement (such as laboratory logs, enrollment records, etc.). We have no specific requirements for manuscript format, but research papers should include a title, abstract, keywords, Highlights, experimental data, discussion, and future prospects, while reviews should propose new directions and perspectives. Additionally, hypothesis-based articles can be published in the form of a letter to the editor: by collecting literature and conducting independent thinking, adolescents can propose hypotheses and analyses on cutting-edge developments. We accept hand-drawn summary figures, mechanism diagrams, and future prospect diagrams, but we do not accept hand-drawn experimental data. Adolescents should conduct experiments and research under professional guidance, and the submitted articles may have one laboratory manager or instructor as the corresponding author. Considering the discouragement of inappropriate experiments for adolescents, data from animal experiments, clinical trials, and human experiments are not permitted for publication, and data generated from experiments with biosafety risks will be subject to strict review.
